Chase has added so much joy to our lives. Remember when you told me how sweet he is: OMG- he walks by you and gives you a little lick, he lays right beside you, always wants to be right in there with the family. He truly is a remarkable addition to our family. Chase has been so easy to train as well. Though, he still loves shoes :) |
What a Joy! We are enjoying him so much. He is loving, smart, and a beauty. So happy we met you. Hope all is well! |
Before another minute goes by…we are having such a great time with Chase. He’s so good and sooooo cute. Believe it or not, he slept through the night and has had very few accidents. Chase loves to eat and drink. We are walking him slowly in the yard. He sometimes sits for his few treats. So far, so good-actually GREAT. We are loving every minute with him. He is delightful. Thanks again. |
Just wanted to give you a quick update on Leyna...she had her first check-up with us on Friday. Everything went great, and she was so well-behaved (she had kisses for everyone)! Of course, they think she is perfect. :) Overall, everything here at home is going pretty well also. We're working on the potty training, but I think she'll have it down soon.
|
She listens very well and seems very smart. I'm excited to enroll her in puppy class! And, she is doing wonderfully with Josh (he's 2). For being such a young puppy, she is very patient with him and lets him give her "kissies" on the nose. So sweet!

Duncan is doing great! He is growing nicely. Last Tuesday when he went to the vet he was 16.1 pounds. He is probably around 18 pounds now. He's still very laid back. He has been going to work with me in the afternoons on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and after the initial playtime when everyone makes a big fuss over him he takes a nap on the floor in my office. I have a steady stream of visitors just peeking in on him. Everyone is so amazed at how calm he is. Initially he was a little shy but he has outgrown that. He's very social and everyone who sees him says he's the cutest puppy they've ever seen.
|
He sleeps through the night and he likes his crate. He isn't afraid of the vacuum cleaner and he tolerates the dogs next door who stand at the fence and bark at him. Every once in awhile he will bark when he's playing but for the most part it's a signal that he has to go out. I will be taking him to "Puppy Kindergarten" classes given by the trainer at my vet's office. They also offer more advanced obedience classes along with Canine Good Citizen and basic agility classes. He's adjusting very well to the leash. Best of all he's a great companion. He is so sweet and loving and then there are times he is such a clown. I absolutely love having him and thank you once again!

He is such a sweetheart and has brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people already. Everyone at work looks forward to their Duncan "fix" in the afternoons. One of the doctors that I work for has an 8 year old lab who comes into the office on some Fridays. We noticed how relaxed everyone was with Colby around and that has helped pave the way for Duncan. He still goes to work with me 3 afternoons a week and he has brought so much joy to a lot of people. Working in a dental office, I am used to seeing people come in whom are really stressed and unhappy, however, if Duncan is in sight you can almost immediately see them relax. On several occasions I have been asked to bring him down to see a patient who is apprehensive and it is amazing the effect he has on them. My co-workers love having him there and my bosses joke about putting him on the payroll.

What a total joy he is. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy he has made so many people. He still goes to work with me 3 afternoons a week and heaven forbid I should show up without him! He has even won over the non - dog people in the office. My bosses, co-workers and even the patients coming in for treatment all come and visit him and he also has some friends that look forward to seeing him when I walk him at work.. Everyone has to have their Duncan time on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday! He's also the star on my Facebook page. Everyone needs their "Yellowish Dog" updates and photos. He has his own Fan Club!

He completed Puppy Kindergarten last June and did very well. In August we did a Basic Obedience Class and he got a perfect score in his final class. He was the only one of 6 dogs to hold a sit and stay for 3 minutes and well as a down and stay. We then did an agility class which he enjoyed. He was the biggest dog in the class and the "jumps" were only 6-8 inches high so he usually just walked over them but he loved the tunnel and jumping through the tire. After agility we did an advanced obedience class which the trainer has set up to fine tune the skills learned in Basic. He did well but was more the class clown in this class. The dogs in the class were all "friends" of his as were the owners so it was a little different.
|
The trainer calls him "wiggle butt" because his tail is always wagging. I plan on doing the advanced class again to keep him in the training mode and then we will do Canine Good Citizen. The trainer feels he could maybe pass the test now but she recommended we wait awhile for him to mature some before we do the class. Meanwhile we are working on the skills needed for the class and he is doing very well. His weaker areas are meeting and greeting both people and other dogs. He wants to play and has a hard time containing himself. However, he does work well off leash in the training environment so that's good..

On Fridays Duncan goes to The Barker Lounge. It's a doggie day care that a friend has and he gets a full day of supervised play. They tell me he is so well behaved he can go into any group they have because he adapts to the group dynamics. They also comment on his temperament - he's so happy and cheerful and laid back. They love having him there and he loves being there, too. This first year with Duncan has been terrific. I cannot thank you enough for the little(and now big) bundle of fur that I brought home a year ago.. He is such a good boy and I believe it has as much to do with breeding as it does with his training. He is a beautiful boy but it's his personality that stands out. Everybody's "Gotta Luv My Duncan"! Thank you so much.

Just wanted to say Hi to you on Duncan's birthday! He is absolutely the best boy! He is still very calm and people are surprised when they hear how young he is. He goes to the Barker Lounge for play time once a week and they tell me he fits into any group there - that he adjusts his behavior to that of the group whether they're older, younger, bigger or smaller. He's still going to work with me three days a week and the patients come in asking for him now. Many have watched him grow up. |
We still haven't done Canine Good Citizen - the trainer feels he's still a bit immature for that. He gets a real bad case of 'wiggle butt' with certain people and it's like his tail has a mind of its own. We're working on that now and making progress. We're hoping to complete that later this year.He 'aced' both basic and advanced obedience and loved agility class. Thank you so much for Country Meadow's Gotta Luv My Duncan! |
I wanted to let you know that Duncan was certified as a therapy dog on June 14. Therapy Dogs International did testing at The Barker Lounge where I take him for day care once a week and he passed with flying colors! My trainer was also there and suggested we enroll for the next Canine Good Citizen class since she feels he has settled down enough to pass that also. His biggest problem has been his 'wiggle butt' but he's learning to control himself a lot more now.

Duncan also has a big brother now. We adopted/ rescued Louie, a 9 year old yellow Lab, who had been a companion to a soldier with PTSD....Both dogs are so well behaved I can walk them together - something I never thought would be possible!
Love the photos of the puppies and I was happy to see Thor completed his American Championship. Thank you again for Duncan! He is such a terrific boy! |
Bunkley is the absolute best. We love her more then we could have ever imagined! She has been pretty easy to train; she is already house broken and knows sit & come. We are working on the lay down & stay now. She is very chill and affectionate but will also go do her own thing.
|
She is super affectionate and very loyal - we couldn't ask for a better dog....she had a blast swimming in the ocean at the Jersey Shore and running around in the yard with my mom's lab all summer long. We had a little boy, Keane, in July and Bunkley is great with him.
|
She is doing great and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful dog. She LOVES the beach and will dive right into the waves and fetch tennis balls all day. We spent 2 months in Florida this winter staying with my mom and took her to the beach almost daily & this summer we're lucky to be at the Jersey Shore (we sneak her down for a swim after the lifeguards leave).
|
She is such a loving and cuddly dog and so great with our son (almost 2 now). I hope you are still breeding when we are ready for another one! Hope all is well with you and your kids and your dogs! Bunkley sends licks to her mom, Lilly, and sister, Sky.
